We woke reasonably late following the feast and free flowing wine the night before. After gathering ourselves and our packs, we headed down to our home stay family’s small dining room for breakfast. We were making our way to the Risa Mountains, where we were visiting the Risa Monastery where we enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, meritless, local jam and peppermint tea.Yet strangely the place did not seem crowded. I’m not sure if it was the sheer size of the place, or whether the masses congregated in one area and didn’t venture far from the main church, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by tourists in the monastery. We wandered the site with busloads of other tourists, yet strangely the place did not seem crowded. The Biden administration has declined to say whether it will de-list the IRC, which claimed responsibility for a missile attack it said hit an Israeli target in Gerbil, Iraq, just last week landing near the U.S. consulate.
Biden administration officials have said those follow-on talks would address issues like Iran’s ballistic missile program or its support for proxy forces like Hezbollah, which threatens Israel from Syria and Lebanon, or the Outhits, which threatens Saudi Arabia and USE from Yemen. Just on Friday, a Outhit attack on Saudi oil giant Aramco’s facilities caused two storage tanks to set fire in massive blazes in Jedediah, although there were no casualties. Saudi Arabia retaliated with a strike in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Saturday.
But analysts say those talks are increasingly unlikely, with Iran refusing to engage the U.S. even in nuclear negotiations. Either way, critics like Bennett say a revived deal will mean new funds for Iran to project strength across the region and menace its adversaries, none more so than Israel.
